Dear CMG Users,
Hello let me tell you a Little about me so everyone knows who i am. My name is matthew nalett i was born in fresno California then moved allot to state to state growing up (family never could stay put). So having friends was sorta interesting growing up since every time i would make friends i would be moving again. And no not a Military Brat just my parents sucked.
But besides that living in these different states the MUSIC is what was interesting everyone pretty much listens to the same music however i noticed smaller towns usually listen to whats available at the local radio station (not top 40 trust me), and or they are playing local talent's music. Bigger City's are mostly stuck to the top 40 charts and whats playing on MTV.
Then when i turned 17 i moved to Houston Texas. Well living in Houston was FUN i lived in a nightclub populated area of town and was always hanging out with DJS and also people who worked @ the clubs So when i turned 20 i worked for a Club called JRS it was a pretty big venue 2 sides and a outside patio so 9 bar stations i believe. I got really in-tune with the music and wanted to do something in the music industry so after working for the bar for 6 years i started putting stuff together. I had to make a sudden move from Houston to Illinois in 2001-02 due to some circumstances i could not control and well moved to Chicago it was here i started my Music Network Chicago Music Promotions.
Chicago Music Promotions Started out in October of 2006 as a stepping stone to help Independent Artists locally in the Chicago area with better/more exposure and to help promote them in general, Since really at the time there was not any websites really for Independents just (Majors). So the website started out very small i had to do everything manually nothing was automated back then (like now). So it consumed allot of my time and effort and mostly i was doing it for "free" at the time so i did feel allot of times i was doing all this for nothing.
Then after some time i found a website that dealt with media network back end systems so my site became automated in the beginning of 2007 is has been pretty nice kinda like a napster or i-tunes for independent musicians. Still not really gaining any revenue from it however it is getting better since i am a promoter for 1 of the clubs here in Wrigley-ville area. So i make money off the door when i hold events.
Also during the 2007 migration to a new platform and system i opened the doors to Independent Labels and Nightclub DJS worldwide i opened up another site as well called New Music Promote since i really want to keep the Chicago website just for Chicago talent.
NewMusicPromote.Com is basically the same structure and layout and everything else except its worldwide. and its been getting allot of buzz as well since its been open from January of 2008.
