Joe Claussell:
Joe Claussell has a passion and he wants to share it with you. A modern-day renaissance man, this New York-based re-mixer, retailer, producer, and global DJ is also a prolific business man; one who approaches all his projects with sincerity and intensity. Qualities he infuses into everything he touches. In his latest role as owner of Spiritual Life Music, he intends to guide the world to a new way of looking at and listening to world music.
Born into a large musical family, and raised in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Joe quickly learned the positive and uplifting affect music had on his life. Having been surrounded on all sides by a diverse combination of music from rock, soul, pop, African, and Latin, Joe started to contribute his own musical inspiration at his Friday night jam sessions at the illustrious vinyl shop Dance Tracks. After later becoming part owner, Joe continued to travel the world in search of the spirituality in music as well as continuing to play international venues. Dance Tracks soon became world renowned for stocking the deepest and most spiritual music available. Recognizing the lack of soulful dance music in the market, Joe created Spiritual Life Music in early 1998. Utilizing the artist's strength, taping into their soul and “making music around it" has been Joe’s philosophy and apparent key to success. Instant remix classics followed with Ten City’s “Nothing Changes,” and Cesoria Evora’s “Sangue De Beirona.” Seamlessly blending African and Brazilian rhythms, jazz rifts, rock guitar as well as plenty of diverse live instrumentation, Joe continually produces innovative fusions of danceable world music.
In 1996, joining NY DJ’s Francois K and Danny Krivit, Joe became a part of the most influential underground party of the late 90’s, Body & Soul. Contributing to the kinetic energy that sets Vinyl on fire every Sunday, Joe stands out from most DJ’s for his innate ability to broadcast his passion from the first to the last person on the dance floor. His regular guests spots around the world help internationally transfer this energy and message.
In the future, Joe aims to make Spiritual Life Music one of the most influential and prolific labels in the industry. Music created for, by and about the soul is a long forgotten pastime of current record conglomerates. Explore this spiritual experimentation, in which the historical, physical, and spiritual elements guide us to a new level of awareness. Listen to the music; you may be surprised at how familiar this sound is, the sound of life.
Anthony Nicholson:
Anthony Nicholson's compositions are an expression of a profound and original sound that leaves an indelible impact on DJs and music lovers alike.
Anthony Nicholson's introduction to the music of artist like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye,
Mile Davis , Steely Dan, and Lonnie Liston Smith, at an early age built him a solid musical foundation that developed into a discriminating taste in the music he collected, and later played. Anthony's first opportunity to develop his talent was at the renowned "Edge Of The Looking Glass" club in Chicago. Music pioneers, such as, Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles were in the midst of defining what we now call "house music". The need of any creative person to evolve prompted Anthony’s' next progression in his career. Teaming up in 1991 with famed Chicago DJ, Lee Collins, to produce his first record for Movin Records in New Jersey. A producer and songwriter were born! In 1993, Anthony began an experimental partnership with producer Ron Trent with the intention of bringing real songs back to the foreground of dance music. As part of a collective known as Urban Sound Gallery(USG), Anthony helped bring to fruition several writing and production concepts with songs like "Ncameu" and "Ebony Angel" which both became instant classics in the dance music community. Anthony participated in remixes for artist such as, Groove Collective, reggae legend Mutabaruka, Larry Heard, and Urban Soul along with co-producing an Urban Sound Gallery album called 'African Blues".
Anthony Nicholson’s' productions are boundless! His catalogue of work has been featured on many leading independents like Guidance Records, King Street Sound, Irma Records, Peace Frog Records, Distance-UK, Sonar Kollektiv,Compost, Laws of Motion, Wave, EMI-Japan, BBE, Ubiquity, Metaphor and others. Still Anthony Nicholson’s' most impressive accomplishment is the shaping of Clairaudience. A sound that has won the support of worldwide DJ icons like Ashley Beedle, Francois K., Louie Vega, Joe Claussell,Ron Trent, -who himself helped form the label,Glen Underground, Marques Wyatt, Mark Grant, Phil Asher, Modaji, U.F.O Jazzanova and Kyoto Jazz Massive. In 2002, Clairaudience pushed ahead with a compilation of material previously released as well as original works from other musically diverse producers, such as, Phil Asher and Frankford, Germanys' very own NEEDS.
Realizing a seemingly impossible dream has molded and brought forth a well-respected tireless disciple for the movement of quality dance music. Even with his bi-weekly residency
at Sonotheque in Chicago, on Saturday and a monthly residency @ Club Love in N.Y Anthony Nicholson looks forward to shaping the future with his music and the collaboration of other talented forces. Recently Anthony released Necessary phazes an album project exclusively for Trackmode recordings. Anthony has also launched two new labels, Circular Motion and Infinite Audio. Both are concept-imprints focusing on the redefinition of dance music and its traditional art forms. These new labels are destined to start a spiritual revolution on the dance floors and in the minds of its listeners.
Taking music and culture back to the future remains to be one of Anthony Nicholson’s most necessary missions in life.

Growing up in Chicago, Torin had little choice but to be influenced by the city's legendary House music scene. Beginning as a DJ in the early eighties, Torin was introduced to House Music in its infancy, absorbing the rhythm and the groove at such renowned Chicago nightspots as The Warehouse, C.O.D., The Powerhouse, and The Gallery.
