"A voice that has an astonishing seven octave vocal range draws you in
with messages from his heart and soul. The presence of Paris Delane on
stage is so overwhelming; it's an experience one does not forget."
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, in a neighborhood where
statistically young black men didn't live past the age of sixteen,
Paris Delane found himself through music. His mother Lillian, who sang
with legendary gospel singer Albertina Walker, put a guitar in his
hands when he was eight years old and by the time he was nine, he was
writing songs.
As a young adult, Paris, along with Sam Hogan and Michael Scott began
singing in the subways of Chicago, calling themselves Rough, Smooth and
Silk. They developed a large following & eventually met Dan Pritzker.
Pritzker formed a band & the trio became the voices of the band, Sonia
Dada. Paris has been with the rocket soul band for 15 years, touring
the world.
In March of 2001, Paris lost his mother and biggest supporter,
Lillian. It was her dream to see her son pursue his solo career.
Since that time, when not on tour, Paris has been working on his first
album, "The Learning Tree."
