| How BAD do you want it?
...success, that is.
Musicians, stop and take an objective look at yourself and your musical career and ask yourself these three questions...
Do I REALLY want to be famous?
How much am I willing to sacrifice to make my goals become reality? (and there will be a lot to sacrifice)
(if I am lucky enough to make it famous) Can I play the same songs over and over and OVER again, city to city? and not get burned out?
If, after honest soul searching, you still feel strong about your dreams, you can continue to stay true to yourself and be one step closer to making them happen.

| Too much practice?
Is there such a thing as too much practice?
How much practicing do you do on your own vs. with your band?
What is a good ratio of practicing on your own and with your band?
Drummers, being that it is harder for you to practice just anywhere. How do you manage to arrange solo drumming practice?

| Be the inspiration for positive change!
One thing we can all agree on is that music has a lot of impact on people, whether for good or bad, it affects us on an emotional level.
The world is in dire need for more positive influences, you don't get them from anywhere really, just more depressing news and it has to change.
Just as in the days of the first Woodstock, I pose this challenge to you today. I ask each of you to write more positive music that will inspire us to make a positive change in the world. Whether it is political or humanitarian or even very personal.
We'll play your songs on our MySpace profile and if we get enough submissions, we'll create a page on the site as well.

| Most effective form of promotion?
When promoting shows, have you observed a particular method that works better than another?
Do you experiment with different methods at different times or use every means at your disposal for each show?
Does anyone still use postcards to advertise your shows?
Do you feel you sometimes have to twist peoples arms to come to shows?
How do you handle it personally when a show does not have the turnout you were expecting?

| Find a band manager? Or manage yourself?
There is no right or wrong answer with this question, because different steps work for different people. But, two main determining factors will definitely help make that decision for you, time and money.
If you've got the money, but no time, it might be the right time to consider finding a manager.
But many these days manage themselves and seem to do quite well with it. I really want to get some responses on this one...
First, how do you run the band (or yourself)? self managed? or have a manager?
Second, if you are self managed, how do you balance staying creative and dealing with the business side of it?
Third, if you have a manager, how is it working out for you? What are the pros and cons that you've experienced?
I want to get all angles on this subject to help make it easier for all musicians in the future.
